Are you a programmer in Clare?

Welcome to larecommunitydevelopment.org/

My name is – Sharva, I also go by Proga. I’m a programmer in clare community Michigan. I’ve been programming for 12+ years, mostly in Java, C++ and a little bit of python lately.

I’m looking to connect with other programmers in the community. Any language is fine, yes even php 😛

I;ll be using this website as my personal blog, + online resume. If you’re interested in hiring a local programmer let me know. I generally free lancer 5-10 hours a week, but I can make more time depending on the project.

Heads up though, I don’t really do a lot of web dev. As you can see from my website.

Cheap car insurance no deposit – Lucky I bought this

This Car Is On Fire! – Why cheap car insurance with no deposit rocks

No, really. That sounds like some stupid song title, but it seriously happened. My car set itself on fire. I got into a scrape a couple of weeks ago which I thought was nothing, just a minor bump. I don’t know enough about engines to know what happened, but something must have gotten knocked loose and well, it set itself on fire.

I’ve never been so freaked out in my life. One minute everything’s great, I’m driving home from work and looking forward to a long weekend doing nothing, next thing, the car is literally on fire.

Okay, that might sound a bit worse than it was – it started smoking, I pulled over, and then the fire happened. So I’m fine, but the car, not so much.

Thank God I double-checked my insurance policy recently though – I remember with my first car, an old rusted thing, I just had third-party on it, but this one is comprehensive. I had a moment of panic when I remembered that I’d gone for very cheap car insurance, no deposit, but it did actually cover everything anyway.

That said, I was really not organised this time. I couldn’t find a company of the insurance policy anywhere, so I had to trawl back through my emails and print it off. That’s now in a safe place so if something bad happens again (fingers crossed it won’t), I know where it is and I can refer to it easily. Nothing quite as worrying as trying to remember what exactly your car insurance covers and being unable to find documentation!

The money I’d usually put on the deposit for insurance was sitting in my savings account, so I used that to pay the deductible. Not an advantage of the no deposit thing I’d actually thought of before, but definitely top of my list now. Also, I have learned my lesson: even if I think the bump is minor, I should get a mechanic to check it out anyway. My insurance should cover that anyway, and then I won’t end up with an even bigger expense (and scare!) a week later. Honestly, I think I’m going to be having nightmares of my car setting itself on fire for sometime. Not something I want to repeat any time soon.

P.S if you’re on the hunt for some good insurance I recommend getting quotes here: http://www.verycheapcarinsurancenodeposit.com/

You can thank me later 🙂

Who Has the Cheapest Car Insurance? Question of the day

So who has the cheapest car insurance?

There is an ongoing debate about who has the cheapest car insurance and why do people pay more than they must for coverage. This question has come up twice this week in my social circles and no one seems to have a concrete answer. I honestly think it’s almost impossible to compare because individual situations are different and those are the factors that affect how much individuals pay for coverage.

I recently switched auto insurance companies because I found out my rates were going to increase again. The increase was not because of any accidents, tickets or anything that I had done personally and this didn’t seem right to me. I made a conscious decision to take control of my finances and not allow another provider to charge me more than necessary to provide me with coverage I rely on daily. I recently made a similar decision regarding my mobile service provider and am proud to say that I can see the money I’m saving and it makes a difference.

It happens often to people I know and I have been guilty of it in the past. We become too lazy to do the research and simply accept these high insurance rates and pay them month after month. I refused to continue down this road and as a result, I’m saving more than $200 monthly on my car insurance payment. I did not lose any quality of coverage and I wasn’t required to put down an obscene amount to acquire the cheaper rate. That’s just the thing, all I did was make one phone call, explain what type of coverage I had and what I wanted to accomplish. After 15 minutes of listening to my options, I received a quote that took me by surprise. In fact, I received cheaper quotes than my existing coverage from three other companies.

I finally realized that I was only with my insurance company because I was accustomed to them. My parents had them and since I was added on to their policy as a teenager, I just assumed it made sense to stay with them. This cost me a great deal of money over the years. Although I can’t get that money back, I can make sure that I don’t throw away another dime on expensive car insurance. It did make me feel good to know that my long-time car insurance provider didn’t want to lose me as a client. I received a call from my agent the other day and he offered to cut my current rate by 15% if I took on a higher deductible. I laughed all the way to my new insurance company’s office.

Reasons to Invest in Chiropractic Marketing: People are Lazy

Most people anyway. Even if they don’t admit it. I am super lazy. And when I had to find a Chiropractor. I was still super lazy. I like things to come to me.

Obviously, that’s a terrible way to live life. It’s actually the opposite of good advice people give you for success. So most of the time I force myself not to be lazy. But deep down I still am.

With all of that effort I put into not following my lazy instincts for the vast majority of my life. I welcome any opportunity to be extra sloth-like the rest of the time.

So, as much as I would like to say that I picked a professional to sort out my back pain because they were the best at what they do. And their expertise shone through. To be perfectly honest, I just couldn’t be bothered to do that kind of research. So, while I’m happy that my Chiropractor does a good job and offers a great service. At the end of the day, I picked him because he came to me.

He didn’t like literally knocked on my door and offer himself up to service me. That would be terrifying, creepy, and would probably put him in jail. I just mean he made himself easy to find.

Apparently, the fancy name for this is ‘Chiropractic marketing’. But whatever it’s called, all I know is that it involved minimal effort on my part to work out whether he was local, available, and good at what he does.

Just a quick trip to Google and I found a website with all of the information I needed, email, address, services etc. There were even reviews online so that I could see whether previous patients were happy or not. It made it really easy to research, and I didn’t even have to move from the sofa. Which is my favourite kind of research.

How I saved on car insurance – Programmers are born cheap!

Last month, I thought of changing my car insurance and thus started my hunt for the cheapest car insurance policy around. I found a really great website to compare quotes of all the prominent insurance companies right from the comfort of my home. I simply fed my area zip code and with a few more details, I got a prompt response showing comparison between different insurance options along with premium payable.

My search did not end there. In addition to finding the most competitive quote for all the coverage such as third party, collision coverage and comprehensive coverage that I wanted, I also wanted to cut out on some of the ‘not-so-desirable’ or unimportant components and save some money on my car insurance. I knew that there was nothing that I could do to reduce the premium payable for components such as statutory requirements like third party coverage, my age, the state in which I live, the make and model of my car, the estimated market value of my car and my driving history. This being so, I still wanted to save something on the premium payment.

I share here what all I did to save on my car insurance premium:

  • Insurer’s discount – I bargained with the insurer and finally obtained an insurer’s discount from them.
  • Insured with my household insurance company – They gave me a ‘loyalty discount’ on my car insurance premium.
  • Multiple discounts – I got small discounts for air bags, automatic seat belts, anti-theft device and anti-lock brakes fitted in my car. I also got small discounts on account of second car in the family and defensive driver training course which I had attended. I ended up getting a discount for buying no deposit car insurance: http://www.autoinsurancemonkey.com/very-cheap-car-insurance-no-deposit-quotes/
  • Uninsured motorist cover discontinuation – I opted out of uninsured motorist cover as I am not required by the state to compulsorily have it. I have been given to understand that my collision insurance and medical insurance already provide me the requisite cover as repair and medical bills are duly covered therein.
  • Dropping reimbursement for a rented car – I opted out of this too since we already have two cars in the family and the other one can be used while this one is under repair.
  • Dropped emergency towing service – I have never had the need to avail this service in the past. Should a need be, I can always go for a paid service.

Having saved small amounts here and there and after paying a relatively less for my car insurance,  I am a happy man now!
